First Mega Parking Area in Mazatlan
With an initial investment of 36 million pesos RMM (Residential Mortgages for Mexico) will start the construction by the end of October of a four stories public parking building.
This project will be located in the heart of the Golden Zone, which will relieve the traffic jam that is currently affecting the area, which is surrounded of condo towers, restaurants and retail stores, that lack of public parking.
This project as well represents the first public parking built in town.
Currently there are two parking areas but they are for private use, one is at the Quijote Inn Hotel and it is exclusively for guests, the second one is the one that is being built at the convention center and will be exclusively use as well.
PARKING & COMMERCIAL AREA
The project began with a vision of Mr. Hank Bailey, RMM’s owner who has been a resident in Mazatlan for over 20 years, his office is located in the Golden Zone, Natalia Arias, sales Manager expressed that day after day customers and working people suffer the lack of parking. This problem increases on the cruise ship’s days, since the local charters people and the tourist transportation take over the area. Considering this problem, the decision to build this parking was taken. It does not have an official name yet but it will be a four stories building with a capacity for over 100 parking spaces and 10 commercial spaces.
The project is looking at this building being functional and stetic, so it does not disrupt the environment and the architecture type of this zone. For this reason the typical boring cement construction will not be built.
In addition depending of the demand the foundation will be ready for future expansion.
The building will handle four schemes: public parking per hour, monthly rent for hotel guests or business people, parking spaces for sale for condo owners, which are mainly foreigners, and a special fare for the golden zone working people.
The Tourism Office Director Gabriel Tostado informed that the legal permits in order to start the construction are in process, like CEPROFIES and well as Municipal licenses.
